Welcome to the East Hastings Sea Angling Association. We are one of the top Angling clubs and social venues in the country. Set in the heart of the Hastings Old Town and part of its fantastic fishing and social community for over 100 years.

Our anglers enjoy our excellent facilities that include a fully beach launched boat yard. This comes with a team of experienced, friendly and helpful beach staff to help get you afloat and back on shore safely at the end of the day with some banter and a laugh to go with it. We can cater for many different size boats from the smaller club boats, through to larger clinkers. We have multiple competitions on throughout year too, with some fantastic prizes and historical trophies to be won. We have full workshop facilities and tools for all your maintenance and upgrade needs. We have secure lockers, outboard and freezer storage onsite so you keep everything you need to hand onsite for when you want it. We also have the amazing Hastings Angling Centre on our doorstep too, for any bait, tackle and advice if you need anything. We have plenty of boat anglers, but we also have many beach anglers, lure fishermen, fly fishermen and let’s face it just about any other type of angler going including both fresh and salt water.

Up in the clubhouse we have a fully stocked modern bar with stunning views across the beach, sea and harbour arm. The perfect place to enjoy a drink with in the middle of summer or a windy and wet day with the sea crashing spectacularly across the harbour arm. We have comfortable and relaxed seating inside and outside the building with a separate stage area with additional seating and dance floor that can be hired for multiple events including weddings, birthdays, wakes and community group meetings. The bar is also discounted for members, however is already one of the best priced venues in the town. We have a friendly, happy and cheeky bar team that are always happy to help you and keep you well hydrated if you are thirsty from a hard day’s fishing, hot summers day or great time on the dance floor.

Pollack and Bass limits 2026

(This received on 16th December 2025)

I can confirm that in 2026, the Bass catch limit will increase from 2 per angler, per day, to 3 per angler, per day. The minimum size restriction of 42cm will remain in place.

Pollock will also be subject to catch limits in 2026, with a limit of 3 per angler, per day.

Whilst this has been formally agreed upon, it has not yet been formally legislated for. The government will do this in 2026. As soon as the MMO has confirmation of when these new rules legally come into force, it will send out comms and social media posts with details.

Kind regards,

Michael Burrow (Marine Officer Hastings MMO)

If you are hungry and fancy lunch, breakfast or a snack, our onsite tea bar / café is there providing you with some of the best food in the old town. The chicken curry has a particularly excellent name for itself within the community and is enjoyed by many. They also have from time to time one of their legendary carvery’s but you need to book quick as they tend to sell out fast due to their popularity. Keep your eye on the events calendar for updates to these events.

We are very well known as part of the community for all of the social events we hold throughout the year. We have live music on every weekend and multiple other special occasions throughout the year such as Fat Tuesday, May Day weekend and Carnival week. We are also very proud to host a huge number of community groups such as the Winkle Club, Widow and Widowers club, Jack in the Green and many more. We’re always looking to help out where we can and if you have a community event or group that’s looking for a venue or our support, please come and say hello and we will see what we can do to help.

Everyone is welcome at our club, so please don’t be shy and pop in to say hello if you’re going past. Just because you’re not a member doesn’t mean you’re not welcome. However, there are multiple benefits if you do join as a member and become one of our fantastic family here in the heart of the Old Town. We hope to see you soon!

A big thank you to Claudia and Sylvia for this video of Clive coming ashore in a 30 metre run of surf, Perfick
